The Canadian Consulate in Nagoya will organize a Canada Pavilion at the MESSE NAGOYA 2010 from October 27 to 30, 2010 in Nagoya, Japan. The exhibition which is an international trade fair held under a different theme each year, serves to showcase the latest information and sophisticated ideas in different industrial sectors and categories.
This year, MESSE NAGOYA 2010 will be held in coordination with COP 10, 10th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity. Messe Nagoya 2010 is expected to attract COP 10 participants including experts, government officials and many other business people. The event will allow participating companies and organizations to disseminate information about their environmental technologies and create business opportunities for the future.
Last year MESSE NAGOYA had 724 booths hosted by participants and welcomed 44,000 visitors. More than 850 booths have been reserved for this year. The show is regarded as the premier environment related business trade show in Western Japan. The booths will be designed with a common “Canada” brand.
The Canadian Consulate in Nagoya will invite Canadian companies to participate. 4 equipped booths will be provided by the Consulate for a maximum of 4 Canadian companies (total 36 square meters). Please note that applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.

The Convention on Biological Diversity (known as the Biodiversity Convention) has three main goals : (i) the conservation of biological diversity including habitats,: (ii) the sustainable use of the components of biological diversity; and (iii) the fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising from the utilization of genetic resources. The Conference of the Parties (COP), which is held roughly every two years, is attended by participants from the contracting parties to discuss strategies on different issues. COP 10, which is schedules to be held in Nagoya 2010, will be attended by an estimated 7,000 participants from Japan and abroad.
