Join New TCS Sub-group: Doing Business in the Gulf Cooperation Council Region (GCC)
* GCC markets: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
As Chief Trade Commissioner & Assistant Deputy Minister for International Business Development, I am pleased to announce the launch of a new TCS group on LinkedIn intended for Canadian companies interested in "Doing Business in the GCC".
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries are a priority market for Canada. Canada-GCC bilateral trade has been increasing steadily over the last few years, reaching a record high of $6.8 billion in 2012, up from $4.8 billion in 2010. The collective GDP of the GCC countries exceeded C$1.3 trillion in 2011.
The Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) of Canada actively promotes Canadian commercial opportunities throughout the GCC region, while providing Canadian companies with the market intelligence, connections and support they need to capitalize on specific opportunities.
The GCC LinkedIn group provides Canadian companies with a forum to advance their understanding of business practices in the GCC markets while demystifying the challenges and clarifying the advantages presented by this growing and vital market for Canadian business.
I encourage you to join this new group as well as refer any colleagues who you believe will benefit from participating in the discussions about Doing Business in the GCC. Our objective is to provide you with access to relevant information, top-notch service and on-the-ground intelligence from the GCC team of the Trade Commissioner Service of Canada. Enjoy the group and let me know how we can improve the group to better meet the needs of your business
