Canada Pavilion at China Education Expo

Following the success of the Canada Pavilion and the release of Canada’s national education brand last year in Beijing, the Canadian Embassy in Beijing and the Canadian Consulate General in Shanghai, are pleased to invite you to exhibit in the Canada Pavilion at the 2009 China Education Expo in Beijing (October 17-19) and Shanghai (October 24-25). This event is also supported by the Edu-Canada team at Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT) to offer opportunities to introduce Canadian institutions to Chinese students with a strategic, collaborative education marketing approach.
Space is particularly limited this year. Institutions planning to be part of the Canada Pavilion must contact Harden Dang no later than August 6, 2009.
One of the leading events dedicated to recruitment market in China, the China Education Expo (CEE) tour will also visit Wuhan, Chengdu and Guangzhou from October 17 to November 1, 2009.
The Canadian Embassy in Beijing and the Consulate General in Shanghai have coordinated with the Fair organizers to secure a block of booth spaces for a branded Pavilion.
Institutions eligible to participate in the Canada Pavilion include:
- K-12 Institutions - public schools or school boards, private schools that belong to the Canadian Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) or the Advanced Placement Program of Canada, schools in China that are authorized to use the curriculum of one of the Canadian provinces or territories
- Language institutions that are members of Languages Canada
- Post-secondary institutions that appear in the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC) Database
The benefits for Exhibitors in the Canada Pavilion include:
In Beijing and Shanghai:
- Common signage in a Canada Pavilion that will greatly increase your visibility as a Canadian institution at the CEE
- Common exterior design using the Imagine: Education au/in Canada brand and images
- A Government of Canada information booth that will receive visitors and answer questions
- Increased visibility for Canada in all of the publications prepared for the CEE - including a catalogue of participating Canadian institutions (TBC)
- Additional interview opportunities with local media
In Beijing only:
- One free admission/booth for the opening reception
- Access to student interpreters available October 18-19 on cost recovery basis. Institutions should indicate if this is a requirement upon first contact with the Canadian Embassy.
- Thursday, October 15: Two special information sessions at the Embassy of Canada
- Morning forum for interested K-12 schools and school boards, organized by the Canada-China Business Council Education Committee. Nominal cost-recovery fee applies.
- Offsite Networking lunch organized by Embassy Cost-recovery basis.
- Afternoon information / networking session for Canadian institutions, with an optional invitation extended to one agent representative per institution. Free of charge to Canada Pavilion exhibitors.
