Evaluation Criteria
An overall evaluation of applications and the individual activity packages proposed will be conducted by the GOA Board. Funding decisions will be made on a package by package basis. Factors that will be considered include:
- How well the proposal provides for a national perspective and benefit to the respective Canadian industry sector
- Eligibility of activities and expenditures for funding and linking of proposed strategy to GOA's objectives
- Capability of associations to complete the proposed activities as described in a timely basis
- How well did the association use and manage the GOA funds in the past
- Stated multi-year vision as to the potential for international business growth in this sector over the next three years building on this year's GOA activity
- Level of funding requested in relation to the performance measurement
- Identification of new or enhanced results or activities that build on GOA-supported outcomes from past years (incrementality)
- Consideration will be given to proposals that address international business development opportunities in the government's priority markets and sectors
- Validation of expected results and outcomes - what are the measurements, how will these be measured and what performance indicators will be used
- How well do the proposed activities favour small Canadian businesses (SMEs)
- Support from posts abroad
- Completeness of the application
