On December 11, 2008 the Government of Canada approved a new Global Commerce Support Program (GCSP). The GCSP is a contribution program that groups three existing programs under one umbrella:
- Global Opportunities for Associations (GOA) (formerly Program for Export Market Development - Associations (PEMD-A)) for national associations;
- Invest Canada-Community Initiatives (ICCI) (formerly Community Investment Support Program (CISP)) for communities; and
- Going Global-Innovation (GGI) (formerly Going Global and Science & Technology (GG) for companies and researchers.
Launch 2010-11
- The GOA system will be available to associations to commence the 2010-2011 application on November 30, 2009.
- Submission Deadline for Application
Completed applications with accompanying mandatory documents MUST be received by January 12, 2010, 08:00am EST. Missing or incomplete applications will be rejected.
- Mandatory documents to be uploaded via the on-line system with application submission include: financial statements of the past two years; and multi-year (minimum 3 years) documented international business development strategy that has been approved by your governing board (e.g. Board of Directors)
- During the period of January 12th to 18th, associations who have submit completed applications and supporting documentation will have the opportunity to make adjustments to their application in consultation with the Sector Officer responsible for thier file.
