Trade Commissioner Service - Trinidad and Tobago
Welcome to the office of the Trade Commissioner Service in Port of Spain. The International Business Development Section of the High Commission serves business people in both Canada and T&T with the goal of increasing trade and other economic activities. Beyond the traditional area of trade in goods, the section promotes joint ventures, trade in services and investment. (The Senior Trade Commissioner resident in Port of Spain, in conjunction with the Canadian High Commission in Georgetown, Guyana, is also involved in promoting Canada's International Business Development relations and trade programs with Suriname and Guyana.)
Our International Business Development relations are both intense and diverse. They are tied to a multitude of agencies in Canada and in T&T. For instance, assistance for doing business may be found through Canadian federal and provincial government departments, the Partnership Branch (CIDA Inc.) of the Canadian International Development Agency, the Canadian Commercial Corporation and the Export Development Corporation, among others. The Commission's Commercial Division can be e-mailed directly at pspan-commerce@international.gc.ca.
