Trade Commissioner Service - U.S.A
Welcome to the office of the Trade Commissioner Service at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C. We help Canadian companies do business in the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. (District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Eastern Pennsylvania). We are also the home of the Office of Liaison with International Financial Institutions (OLIFI) serving Canadians interested in doing business with the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank and their affiliates wherever they do business in the world. Canada's science and technology policy monitoring function for the US is located at the Embassy as well. Other parts of the Embassy deal with trade and economic policy, relations with Congress, Canada's public affairs and advocacy needs, as well as political and other aspects of the larger bilateral relationship with the U.S.
For more information see the Exporting to the United States - A Guide for Canadian Businessess. Additionally, guidance on how to Sell to the U.S. Government may be particularly useful.
We also provide assistance to our American clients who wish to procure from, or partner with, Canadian firms, invest in Canada, or find a technology partner. For exporting to Canada, contact the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service.
