The Commercial Sections of the Embassy of Canada in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of Canada in Dubai are jointly responsible for business development and investment in the UAE. Requests for general market information in the whole of the UAE can be addressed to either mission. Inquiries specific to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi or relations with the UAE federal government and military should be directed to the Embassy. Inquiries specific to Dubai and the Northern Emirates should be directed to the Consulate. The Canadian Ambassador to the UAE is H. E. Kenneth Lewis.
The UAE IBD Program's staff resources operate as a single integrated team but are physically distributed between two missions, the Embassy of Canada in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate of Canada in Dubai. These are Trade Commissioners located in both missions, but their sectorial responsibilities apply to the whole UAE, with no duplication or overlap.

The Embassy covers the Emirate of Abu Dhabi with special emphasis on government procurement, aerospace and defence (military and security), space, oil and gas equipment and services, electric power and equipment, metals, minerals and related equipment, environmental industries, plastics, consumer products (except furniture and furnishings), education and training and services industries and capital projects.
The Consulate General of Canada, Dubai
The Consulate General of Canada in Dubai covers the Emirate of Dubai and the Northern Emirates (Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah) with special emphasis on these sectors: Agriculture technologies and equipments, agriculture food and beverage, fish and seafood products, information and communication technologies, heath industries (except veterinary), ocean technologies, bio-industries, aerospace (commercial), art and cultural industries, manufacturing technologies, investment development and strategic partnering, advanced materials, automotive, building products and construction equipments, consumer products (furniture and furnishings only) forest industries, rail and urban transit, services industries and capital projects.
