Why We Need a More Consistent Approach to Management of Trade and Investment Missions
Over the past several years, the Trade Commissioner Service has experienced an unprecedented demand for its services, including those related to the management of trade and investment missions. In order to meet that demand and ensure a consistent level of service throughout the world, we need to make sure that both the Trade Commissioner and those organizing trade and investment missions have a clear understanding of their respective roles and responsibilities.
The approach outlined in this kit is based on existing practices at a number of posts overseas. We have found that these work well. The intent is to facilitate, not complicate, the organization of trade and investment missions and to ensure that the final result optimizes opportunities for participating Canadian businesses.
