Webinar March 20th and/or 27th - Doing Business in Cuba: An Introduction
March 20, and/or March 27, 2013: Register for this webinar designed to prepare business women for a possible trade mission to Cuba from November 3-5, 2013.
Choose one of two dates and get an overview of market opportunities in Cuba, including (but not limited to) the following sectors: agriculture, food and beverages; infrastructure, building products and related services; life sciences; oil and gas; and mining.
If enough Canadian women entrepreneurs are interested in participating in the trade mission, they can anticipate the following support:
- Introductions to the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service team in Havana;
- A briefing on doing business in Cuba;
- Meeting with the Cuban Chamber of Commerce as well as other key business contacts from the Cuban government; and
- Attendance to the Havana International Fair (November 3-9, 2013), the largest annual multi-sector trade fair in Havana, which attracted over 3,000 companies from 62 countries in 2012.
“ Our goal is to increase economic opportunity for Canadian business women by fostering commercial partnerships with Cuban business leaders,” says Monica Heron, Senior Trade Commissioner in Havana. “Because of the high-level of gender equality in Cuba, Cuban women are poised to play a significant role in the future of the Cuban economy. This is an extremely timely initiative given the ongoing economic reforms taking place in Cuba, and the potential for increased Cuban/Canadian trade.”
