Presented by the Hong Kong Education City (a Hong Kong Government wholly-owned organisation to promote the use of IT in learning and teaching), Hong Kong Learning and Teaching Expo (HKLTE) is one of the largest annual learning and teaching expo in Asia. HKLTE provides a platform for education buyers, governments, school leaders, teachers and educators in Asia to discover the latest developments in educational resources and learning technology. The focus of LTE  includes EdTech, game-based learning, AI/VR learning, and STEM products. Every year, the Asia-Pacific International Schools Conference (AISC) is organised in conjunction to the LTE, which attracts over 500 international school leaders and educators in the Asia Pacific region to visit the Expo.  There were over 300 exhibitors and 13,000 visitors in HKLTE 2019.

The Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong first organised a Canadian EdTech/eLearning mission to Hong Kong in December 2019, and to have Canadian companies exhibited under the Canada Pavilion at HKLTE 2019. The initiative was a success in helping to enhance market awareness of Canadian EdTech and online learning and teaching capabilities, as well as to promote the Canada brand, and thus received positive feedback from exhibiting partners and pavilion visitors.

The Canadian EdTech/eLearning mission programme includes meetings with Trade Commissioners from Hong Kong, mainland China and other Asian markets to gather information on market trends and opportunities, personalised business matching service when applicable (subject to the TCS’s market potential assessment for panel exhibitors only), visits to local schools, networking with local contacts, and exploring partnership opportunities in Hong Kong and the APAC region.
