Event description:

The Embassy of Canada to Tokyo is hosting “Canada AI Startup Showcase” pitch event that will be held virtually in October 18 (PST), followed by an online B2B matching program November 3th-4th (PST). In this program, we would like to introduce Canadian companies to targeted Japanese companies through a program of B2B meetings, taking into account the strategic areas of AI in Japan, the advantages of Canadian AI companies, and the growing and changing needs for AI technology in the Japanese market.

In terms of social implementation of technologies through achieving Society 5.0* in Japan, this B2B program is focused on introducing Canadian AI start ups from various fields including regional development (smart cities), manufacturing, health and medical care, transportation and logistics, agriculture, among others.

Through this B2B program, Canadian AI start ups will be better equipped to successfully commercialize their technology and become more competitive in the Japan market.

*“Society 5.0” refers to a new society following the earlier Information Society. Society 5.0: entails:

Canadian companies wishing to take part in this B2B program should email Kenji Hirabara,, for the application form as the application is due Sunday, August 15, 2021 (PST). All eligible applications will be evaluated and firms will be selected based on the strength of their submission. After a selection process, selected companies will receive a confirmation email.
