Canada’s Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) is proud to support Startup Global 2021 (formerly the Canadian Export Challenge), presented by Startup Canada in collaboration with Export Development Canada (EDC) and UPS, for the fourth consecutive year.
Startup Global will take place from June to October this year and will help support the growth of Canadian entrepreneurs and SMEs in learning how to effectively do business around the world through free digital events and resources, including an online portal with educational resources on exporting (new this year!), boot camps, panels and one-on-one expert advice.
Startup Global will also have a digital pitch competition for start-ups and for scale-up companies.
Entrepreneurs who are selected to compete in the semi-finals in September will pitch to win $5,000 in the scale-up category and $2,500 in the start-up category.
The top five startups and top five scale-up companies will move on to the Grand Finale in October, where they will pitch for a chance to win up to an additional:
- $25,000 in cash (scale-up category)
- $5,000 in cash (start-up category) and
- up to $100,000 in support.
