Canadian companies are invited to join the Canadian delegation to the Smart City World Expo Congress in Barcelona from November 4 to 8 to tap into the opportunities around smart cities and public procurement. This premier global event attracts key stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, and innovators from across the world, offering a unique platform to showcase Canadian expertise in smart city technologies. By participating, companies can demonstrate their cutting-edge solutions in areas such as urban mobility, energy efficiency in public infrastructure, and sensors and Internet of Things.
By joining the delegation, Canadian firms can leverage these opportunities to expand their footprint and influence in the global smart city landscape.
Smart cities in Europe
The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between Canada and the European Union opens significant opportunities in municipal public procurement, providing Canadian companies with greater access to European smart city projects.
European cities are actively seeking innovative solutions to tackle urban mobility challenges, such as congestion and public transit affordability, to enhance energy efficiency in their infrastructures, and to integrate sensors and new technology to provide digital services to citizens and tourists.
This delegation is a multi-country activity. Trade Commissioners from Spain, Germany, UK, Sweden, and Latvia will participate.
