“I’m very excited to be working as a trade commissioner in Seattle. Our job is to identify specific sector priorities in various regions and Trade Commissioners are assigned to those sectors.  We become much more of a specialist than a generalist in our sectors and as such are much more involved in the industry. My main focus is clean-tech in Alaska, Oregon, Idaho and Washington State. The Washington-Oregon region is known for its early adoption of innovation in numerous sectors. There are opportunities for Canadian clean-tech start-ups for smart grid technologies, battery storage, biomass, anything that cleans the land, cleans the air, and can change the world.”
