Event description
China has over 85 million people with disabilities. At the end of 2023, 297 million Chinese people were aged 60 and over, up from 280 million the year before (Ministry of Civil Affairs). This group accounts for 21.1% of the total population, up 1.3 percentage points year-over-year and exceeding 20% for the first time. More than 216 million people were aged 65 and over as of December 2023. They accounted for 15.4% of the country’s total population, up from 14.9% in 2022.
In 2024, a special initiative for the “Promotion of the Care for Children with Autism (2024 to 2028)” was launched to care for the 10 million people with autism, including 2 million children. Various action plans are set in place to support capacity building, inclusive education and technology innovation for autism care.
Care & Rehabilitation Expo China (CR Expo) has been successfully held for 17 sessions. The Expo is organized by the China Disabled Persons’ Federation, China’s Ministry that manages welfare, services, and assistive device distribution for the 85 million people with disabilities in China. CR Expo gathers the most advanced and up-to-date technologies, solutions and products from the rehabilitation, assistive device, geriatric care, and health industries. Itgoal is to build a comprehensive platform to the future development of the industries. The 2024 CR Expo attracted 369 exhibitors and over 40,000+ professional visitors. It also hosted 25 Forums including the “China-Canada Accessibility Development Cooperation Forum”. International exhibitors included companies from:

- Japan
- Belgium
- Denmark
- Switzerland
The Trade Commissioner Service together with Alberta, Ontario and Quebec Provincial Governments will jointly organise a series of business activities prior to and during the CR Expo.
Activity 1: Canada pavilion (September 12 to 14, 2025)
The Trade Commissioner Service together with Ontario, Quebec and Alberta Provincial Governments will jointly support a 54sqm Canadian Pavilion at 1A20 in Hall 1. The pavilion will demonstrate Canadian excellence in rehabilitation and assistive device.
It is FREE to participate in the Canadian Pavilion, which can host a maximum 16 exhibitors. Exhibitor will be fully responsible for their own booth decoration and promotional materials.
Activity 2: China-Canada conference on educational practices for children with autism (September 12, 2025)
To mark the one-year anniversary of the “Promotion of Care for Children with Autism (2024 to 2028) initiative, the China-Canada Conference on Educational Practices for Children with Autism will take place alongside the CR Expo. The conference will support continued collaboration between Canada and China in autism education, care, tools, and support services.
The forum will include:
- keynote speeches from both Canada and China
- roadshow sessions with presentations from 45 Canadian colleges
- consulting and technology companies with autism related solutions
- a B2B session for in-depth discussion on cooperation
Activity 3: Ontario & Quebec joint roadshow activities to other cities (after the expo)

Canadian delegates will be responsible for their own travel costs and may wish to:
- review their eligibility for the Government of Canada’s CanExport program
- contact their provincial government representatives to identify additional source of funding support
Please note:
The TCS will not provide any forms of translation/interpretation service.
Canadian delegates without Mandarin language capabilities may wish to consider hiring their own translator to support translation of the video script or communications with local interlocutors during the exhibition and the forum in China.
