Get help from the network
Begin by contacting a trade commissioner in Canada, who can help you prepare for international markets or, they can connect you to the right IFI/UN support partners that make up the network, including:
- Offices of Liaison with the International Financial Institutions (OLIFI) are the primary TCS contacts for Canadians pursuing business opportunities related to the international financial institutions (IFIs).
- Private Sector Liaison Officers (PSLOs) are a network of local Canadian contacts (originally created by the World Bank Group), established to facilitate small and medium-sized enterprises' access to IFI products and services, as well as fostering interactions between the IFIs and the private sector. Canada is a member of this global network.
- Offices of the Canadian Executive Directors based in the IFIs, represent the interests of Canada at regional multilateral development banks. These offices can provide strategic information on Canadian policies related to their respective IFI's policies, as well as on current priorities and activities.
- Canadian trade offices in UN agency host cities, are TCS contacts that can offer advice on the role of United Nations' agencies located in their region.
