Philippines Water Technology Canadian Technology Accelerator – Special Edition

The Philippines needs water technologies now more than ever.

Across the country's 534 water districts, 244 of them lose more than 30% of their water to leaks and illegal connections. In comparison, the global benchmark is 20%. Demand across water districts in the Philippines has run about 3.6 million cubic metres a year ahead of what reaches customers. Only around 10% of the country's wastewater is treated. Closing these gaps is a national priority backed by a master plan that calls for more than PHP 1 trillion in investment by 2030, and the local technology base hasn't kept pace.

Six to eight Canadian companies are called to respond to this huge market demand through the Philippines Water Technology Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA), an intensive three-month hybrid program.

Virtual

• Closed-door webinar series on the Philippine water market (regulation, procurement pathways, and who actually buys)

• Two one-on-one sessions with Philippine water industry leaders, who will continue as your in-market mentors on utility procurement and finding the right distributor or partner

In person

• Free pavilion space at Water Philippines 2027, a half day of business-to-business (B2B) meetings, and a pitch session with utilities, integrators, and venture capitals (VCs). All of these will be arranged by the Trade Commissioner Service. Bring your own marketing materials. 

Travel, accommodation, and other expenses during the in-person component are at your own cost.

The CTA Special Edition will provide Canadian companies with access to new international ecosystems beyond the program’s established global innovation hubs, supporting early engagement in high-potential markets. These one-time programs are designed to accelerate global growth by connecting companies with local industry leaders, partners, and investors.

• December 2026: You will be notified of your selection on December 7, 2026.
• January 2027: Individual onboarding followed by a cohort meeting covering logistics, a market overview, and the full schedule of sessions and in-market activities.
• February 2027: Three webinars providing an overview of the market, regulatory framework and business entry approach, and will cover key industry stakeholders. Two working sessions with a mentor on business development, how to pitch in the Philippine market, and introductions to the mentor’s contacts.
• March 2027: A pre-mission webinar in preparation for business-to-business matchmaking, pitch to venture capital, and exhibition at Water Philippines 2027. An exit call two weeks after the mission to discuss next steps.

The schedule is designed so that you arrive in Manila with conversations already underway. The goal is that by the time you reach Water Philippines, you're meeting partners you've already been introduced to and are positioned to move those conversations forward, while using the event to reach the next round of utilities, distributors, and customers.

• water reuse, recycling, and resource recovery technologies
• next generation water quality testing hardware and software
• water and wastewater treatment project developers and consulting companies with a unique portfolio (engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies, utility concessionaire, etc.)
