Sweden Battery Value Chain Canadian Technology Accelerator Special Edition

Demand for batteries is expected to grow quickly in the coming years, driven by the clean energy transition and electrification across multiple sectors in Sweden.

Sweden aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2045. In response to how this goal will be reached, 23 industrial sectors produced roadmaps that resulted in seven strategies, one of which is to establish a sustainable battery value chain.

Furthermore, the Canada Sweden Strategic Partnership Agreement from November 2025 supports a cooperation through several linked priority areas:

  • critical minerals
  • clean technologies
  • industrial cooperation
  • innovation

This partnership creates a framework for bilateral battery value chain collaboration.

This special edition of the CTA program will help Canadian battery and battery supply chain companies navigate the Swedish market through a targeted program offering market intelligence, expert mentorship, and strategic networking opportunities with potential buyers and partners to foster collaboration and co-innovation.

The in-market visit is being organised in connection with the Battery Innovation Days.  The event is Europe’s go-to platform for battery research and innovation where ideas, technologies, and people across the battery value chain come together to shape the future of energy storage.

CTA special edition

The CTA Special Edition will provide Canadian companies with access to new international ecosystems beyond the program’s established global innovation hubs, supporting early engagement in high-potential markets. These one-time programs are designed to accelerate global growth by connecting companies with local industry leaders, partners, and investors.
