Event description

The China International Import Expo (CIIE) is hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the Shanghai Municipal Government. The event is organized by the China International Import Expo Bureau and the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). It has been successfully held for seven consecutive sessions. 

The CIIE aims to promote the exchange of creativity and ideas, leveraging its four major platform functions: 

  • international procurement
  • investment promotion
  • cultural exchanges
  • open cooperation

Since its launch in 2018, the CIIE has attracted many professional visitors. The number of registered professional visitors for the 7th CIIE in 2024 reached 430,000, and the overall cumulative intended transaction amount of the exhibition reached US$80 billion. Nearly 100 Canadian companies and institutions from different provinces and regions participated in CIIE2024, primarily in the following sectors: 

  • Agricultural food
  • Consumer products
  • Health products
  • Service trade industries

The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE 2025) will feature 7 exhibition areas: 

  • Consumer goods
  • Medical equipment and healthcare products
  • Food and agricultural products
  • Automobile and smart mobility
  • Intelligent industry and information technology
  • Trade in services
  • Innovation incubation special section

The Consulate General of Canada in Shanghai will establish:

  • Canada Consumer Products Pavilion, focusing on:
    • fashion
    • cosmetics and personal care
    • mother and baby
    • home products related to healthy lifestyles
  • Canada Natural Health Products Pavilion, focusing on natural health products and functional food related products
  • Canada Agrifood Pavilion
