Event description

FORPIQ 2025 will focus on the role of intellectual property (IP) in supporting these goals. This comes in response to evolving national priorities and growing recognition among NATO allies of the importance of emerging technologies for defence and security. The event will explore how strong IP strategies can advance economic security, defence innovation, and Canada’s technological sovereignty within the broader innovation ecosystem. The speaker lineup has a diverse range of specialists, including representatives from the defence, trade, IP, and innovation sectors, who will explore the critical role of intellectual property (IP) in Canada’s economic and national security. The event will ground the discussion in real-world examples, highlighting Canada’s current vulnerabilities, showcasing opportunities for Canadian IP to address them, and offering concrete strategies to realize this potential.
