Event description

The Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) in Shanghai and the China Indie Game Alliance (CiGA) are hosting a Canada Pavilion at WePlay Expo 2025, China’s leading indie game exhibition.

The pavilion will showcase Canadian indie game studios, helping them:

  • promote their games in China
  • connect with one of the world’s most dynamic and high-potential gaming markets

Studios participating in the Canada Pavilion at WePlay 2025 will:

  • meet with potential publishers, investors and partners from China and across Asia to explore opportunities related to:
    • global and regional publishing
    • public relation (PR) and marketing
    • community activation and engagement
    • localization
  • showcase their game titles to thousands of Chinese players, industry professionals, media and influencers, helping build exposure and increase visibility
  • gain insights into the Chinese game market, its trends, and consumer preferences
  • network with fellow developers and relevant industry stakeholders
  • have their games featured on:
    • a dedicated Steam event page
    • leading Chinese gaming media and community platforms such as HeyBox and GCores

How your business can participate

  • In person: Travel to Shanghai, showcase your games at the Canada Pavilion, and meet with Chinese publishers, investors, and partners.
  • Online: Simply share a playable demo. The TCS team in Shanghai will promote it at the Pavilion.

Spots are limited!

Priority will be given to studios who:

  • have a playable demo for offline showcase
  • can attend in person
  • have active business-to-business (B2B) interests in the Chinese or broader Asian market

Canadian companies selected for the showcase can register for free. The TCS will cover the cost of renting and building the booth. Canadian companies participating in-person must cover their own travel, accommodation, and related expenses.

  • Business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking: The TCS organizes curated B2B meetings, connecting Canadian companies with international partners, investors, and clients to explore new business opportunities.
  • Pavilion/exhibit: Showcase your company at the Canada Pavillion where your organization can have a booth located in a high-traffic area.
  • Networking opportunities: Join TCS-hosted networking sessions to connect with key industry players, government representatives, and global leaders, fostering collaborations that support international growth.
