Event description

Under Canada’s Creative Export Strategy, the Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) is working with Canadian Heritage (PCH), Telefilm Canada and provincial partners to host a Canada-branded pavilion at FILMART 2026. The pavilion will focus on supporting business-to-business (B2B) connections.

FILMART is Asia’s leading trade market for film, TV, and animation gathering hundreds of exhibitors and buyers from more than 30 countries and regions, including:

  • Mainland China and Hong Kong
  • Korea
  • Japan
  • Southeast Asia
  • India
  • Australia

At the Canada Pavilion, participants will use a shared meeting lounge and company pods for on-site business meetings. The meetings will be supported by curated buyer outreach, market screenings to showcase titles, and the FILMART online intellectual property (IP) catalogue for pre-event discovery and post-event follow-up. The event’s themes are directly aligned with Canadian exporters’ commercial goals in the Indo-Pacific. Focuses include:

  • animation
  • artificial intelligence (AI) and screen innovation
  • distribution and licensing
  • co-production and financing
  • sales to regional platforms and broadcasters

In line with the objectives of the Creative Export Strategy, Canada’s presence at FILMART will help Canadian creators and companies showcase export-ready intellectual property (IP) and talent on priority Indo-Pacific stages. It also aims to support the development of sustained business networks and market intelligence, while helping convert exposure into export deals.
