Event description

The Consulate General of Canada in Shanghai will host a Canada Pavilion at the 28th edition of Pet Fair Asia, showcasing the strength of Canada’s pet sector. The pavilion will host 8 to 10 Canadian companies across categories including:

  • pet food
  • treats
  • grooming products
  • accessories
  • supplements
  • intellectual property (IP) licensing

Participating companies will benefit from product display opportunities within the 240 square-metre Canada Pavilion, plus access to a dedicated Canada Pitch Session or business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking program. To support Canadian exporters, especially those new to the China market, the Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) will help facilitate B2B and enable enhanced engagement with vetted local partners.

How the program works

  • Business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking: The TCS organizes curated B2B meetings, connecting Canadian companies with international partners, investors, and clients to explore new business opportunities.
  • Pavilion/exhibit: Showcase your company at the Canada Pavillion where your organization can have a booth located in a high-traffic area.
  • Networking opportunities: Join TCS-hosted networking sessions to connect with key industry players, government representatives, and global leaders, fostering collaborations that support international growth.

Participation details and costs

Participation in the event is offered on a cost-recovery basis due to limited financial resources and space. Spots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to a screening process to assess companies’ readiness for international markets. A timely financial commitment is required to secure participation. Participating companies will be responsible for covering a portion of booth space and construction costs, as well as all travel and other expenses associated with the event.
