Event description

The Canadian Creative Accelerator (CCA) is a joint initiative of the Embassy of Canada in France and Telefilm Canada, delivered in partnership with other Canadian industry stakeholders.

The CCA supports Canadian audiovisual companies expanding their presence in the French and European markets. Through an intensive and tailored program, participants will be able to increase the visibility of their content, identify new co production partners, expand their professional networks, and create new business opportunities.This edition of the CCA includes a special focus on women.

Program overview

The program will take place over 3 weeks in a hybrid format (online and in person) around MIPCOM 2026, which will be held in Cannes from October 12 to 15, 2026.

The 6 selected companies will benefit from dedicated support, including:

  • a personalized assessment of their international development needs and objectives, with a particular focus on MIPCOM
  • specialized webinars and workshop led by recognized industry experts
  • exclusive exchanges with French and European industry leaders
  • opportunities to showcase their catalogue and projects to industry professionals
  • business-to-business (B2B) meetings with potential partners
  • networking activities designed to foster long-term business relationships

Eligibility criteria

The program is open to companies that meet the following criteria:

  • Be a legally incorporated Canadian company
  • Be actively engaged in the audiovisual production sector in Canada
  • Have a catalogue of at least five completed works currently available for sale
  • Demonstrate a genuine interest in and capacity for international growth
  • Commit to participating in all program activities (September to October, exact dates to be confirmed)
  • Submit a complete application package by the deadline
  • Meeting at least one of the following criteria is a major asset: 
    • Be majority-owned by one or more women
    • Present one or more projects led by a female producer
    • Develop content highlighting women-related themes

Submit your application

Applications must include:

  • a company profile (approximately 20 lines)
  • a statement of interest explaining why participation in the CCA and MIPCOM represents a strategic opportunity for the company (1-page length recommended)
  • a filmography highlighting completed productions and titles currently available for sale

Important

  • Applications may be submitted in either English or French
  • Each selected company will receive one MIPCOM accreditation
  • Travel and accommodation expenses remain the responsibility of the selected companies

Selection process and timeline

  • Application deadline: August 10, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. ET (midnight Paris time)
  • Announcement of results: Late August 2026
  • CCA program: September to October 2026
  • MIPCOM: October 12 to 15, 2026

Applications will be reviewed by a committee of international audiovisual industry professionals. Up to 6 Canadian companies will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance of their international business development strategy
  • Company experience and track record
  • Potential for international co-productions and partnerships
  • Quality of the catalogue submitted
  • Motivation and commitment demonstrated in the application

As most activities will be conducted in either French or English, a good understanding of both languages is an asset in order to fully benefit from the program.

Priority will be given to companies that have never participated in a Canadian Creative Accelerator (CCA), although previous participants are welcome to apply.

  • Business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking: The TCS organizes curated B2B meetings, connecting Canadian companies with international partners, investors, and clients to explore new business opportunities.
  • Networking opportunities: Join TCS-hosted networking sessions to connect with key industry players, government representatives, and global leaders, fostering collaborations that support international growth.
