Event description

The Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) at the Embassy of Canada to Korea, in collaboration with Health Emergency Readiness Canada (HERC), is pleased to organize an in-person Canadian business delegation to Bioplus-Interphex Korea (BIX) 2026.

Co-hosted by KoreaBIO and RX Korea, BIX is one of Korea’s leading international exhibitions for biopharmaceuticals and biomanufacturing. It brings together stakeholders across the full life sciences value chain, including:

  • global biopharma companies
  • contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs)
  • technology providers
  • investors
  • research institutions
  • public-sector

Canada has officially been confirmed as the Country of Honour for BIX 2026, positioning Canada at the centre of the exhibition and conference program.

As one of Asia’s fastest-growing life sciences markets, Korea continues to make significant investments in biopharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, AI, and data-driven innovation. Korean stakeholders are increasingly seeking international collaboration opportunities, particularly in areas where Canada has strong global capabilities, including:

  • AI-enabled drug discovery
  • digitally driven biopharma R&D
  • advanced therapeutics
  • enabling technologies

Through a coordinated Team Canada presence, the delegation program will support participating Canadian companies in raising their profile in Korea, building strategic partnerships, and exploring commercial, investment, and R&D collaboration opportunities with leading Korean stakeholders.

In addition to the main exhibition and conference program from October 28 to 30, the Embassy of Canada in Seoul will also host a dedicated program for the business delegation. The program will take place on October 27, and will include market briefing and site visit.

The delegation program is expected to include:

  • pre-event market briefing on Korea’s life sciences ecosystem and business environment
  • participation in the Canada Pavilion at BIX 2026, including on-site branding and meeting space
  • full access to the BIX conference and partnering platform
  • pre-arranged business-to-business (B2B) meetings with Korean companies, investors, and institutions
  • curated networking opportunities, including a Canada-hosted VIP luncheon session
  • site visit program

This initiative is particularly well-suited for Canadian organizations active in:

  • AI and data-driven drug discovery
  • digital and AI-applied biopharma platforms
  • novel and advanced therapeutics, including cell and gene therapies

BIX 2026 represents a unique and high-impact opportunity for Canadian companies and organizations to engage one of Asia’s most dynamic life sciences markets under a highly visible Canada Country of Honour platform.
