Who should apply:

The program is open to Canadian companies across a broad range of sectors that are export-ready and interested in expanding into Kazakhstan and the wider Central Asian region. Priority will be given to Canadian women-owned businesses in line with the objectives of the Business Women in International Trade (BWIT) initiative. Participating companies should demonstrate a clear interest in developing commercial partnerships and expanding their international presence in the region.

Event description

The Trade Commissioner Service and the Embassy of Canada to the Republic of Kazakhstan invite Canadian women-owned and women-led businesses to join the Business Women in Trade (BWIT) Mission to Kazakhstan. The delegation is organized alongside BeWoman 2026, one of Central Asia's largest international business events dedicated to women entrepreneurs.

This delegation will help Canadian companies explore business opportunities, connect with potential partners, and better understand the Kazakhstan and Central Asian markets.  

Why Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is the largest economy in Central Asia and Canada's principal commercial partner in the region. The country is diversifying its economy, advancing digital transformation, and increasing support for women entrepreneurs through new government programs, venture financing initiatives, and partnerships with international organizations.

Women-owned businesses are increasingly active in many sectors including:

  • financial services
  • consumer products
  • education
  • healthcare
  • agriculture
  • sustainability
  • professional services 
  • creative industries

Kazakhstan can also provide Canadian companies with access to opportunities in the broader Central Asian market, including Uzbekistan.

About BeWoman 2026

BeWoman is one of the largest international business platforms for women entrepreneurs in Central Asia, taking place in Astana on October 15, 2026. The event is expected to attract more than 3,000 participants, including:

  • investors and venture capital representatives 
  • government officials 
  • international organizations 
  • business associations 
  • private-sector companies 
  • media and opinion leaders 

The event provides opportunities to connect with senior decision makers and potential partners across multiple industries.

The Embassy of Canada is developing a tailored business program for participating Canadian companies, including:

  • a market intelligence briefing on Kazakhstan and Central Asia 
  • pre-event market preparation 
  • tailored B2B matchmaking 
  • a networking reception with Kazakhstan's leading businesswomen 
  • participation in BeWoman 2026 
  • meetings with potential buyers, distributors and strategic partners 
  • meetings with major corporations, financial institutions and technology companies 
  • site visits (where appropriate) 
  • follow-up support from the Trade Commissioner Service after the mission

The Embassy is engaging senior stakeholders from Kazakhstan's public and private sectors, including companies and organizations operating in:

  • retail 
  • sustainability 
  • technology 
  • consumer industries 
  • professional services 

Additional meetings will be organized according to each participating company's business objectives.

Participants will be responsible for:

  • international airfare

  • interpretation requirements specific to their company (if required)
