Event description

The China International Import Expo (CIIE) is one of the world’s largest trade exhibitions. In 2025, the CIIE welcomed more than 460,000 professional visitors, bringing together global suppliers with Chinese buyers, investors, industry leaders, and government stakeholders. 

For Canadian companies, CIIE is an opportunity to enter or expand their presence in the Chinese market. The event attracts decision makers from:

  • state-owned enterprises
  • private companies
  • e-commerce platforms
  • investment organizations
  • government 

Canada pavilions at CIIE 2026

The Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) team in Shanghai  will organize Canada pavilions at CIIE 2026.

The pavilions will showcase Canadian products in three sectors:

Consumer products

Pavilion-Located in consumer products exhibition area, (Hall 6.1.).

This pavilion will features high-quality Canadian brands in areas such as:

  • fashion
  • beauty and personal care
  • mother and baby products, and
  • home and lifestyle goods

Natural health products

Located in the medical devices and healthcare products exhibition area.

This pavilion will feature Canadian brands that specialize in:

  • natural health products
  • functional foods

Agri-food

Located in the Agri-food exhibition area.

This pavilion will feature Canadian agri-food products and highlight Canada’s reputation for high quality, safe, and sustainably produced food and agricultural products.

Participation costs and booth selection

Participation is offered on a cost recovery basis. Funding and space are limited.

Companies must make a financial commitment on time to confirm their participation. 

1. Booth locations within the Canada pavilions will be assigned based on:booth size, with larger booths givenfirst priority

2. Application order, for booths of the same size 

Submitting an application does not guarantee participation. 

The selection process is competitive and based on: 

  • the information provided in the application 
  • compliance with CIIE and pavilions requirements 

The Trade Commissioner Service team in Shanghai reserves the right to make final selection decisions.

Eligibility

To be considered, companies must meet the requirements for the pavilion they apply to.

Canada Consumer Products Pavilion

Companies must:

  • be approved clients of the Trade Commissioner Service 
  • meet the TCS export-ready criteria
  • showcase Canadian products
  • offer product in a consumer product category, excluding  food and natural health products
  • submit all required documentation on time, as instructed
Canada Natural Health Products Pavilion
  • be approved clients of the Trade Commissioner Service
  • meet the TCS export-ready criteria
  • showcase products made in Canada and recognized as Canadian products
  • offer natural health products and functional foods, excluding regular packaged food
  • submit all required documentation on time, as instructed
Canada Agri-food Pavilion

Companies must:

  • be approved clients of the Trade Commissioner Service (TCS)
  • meet the TCS export-ready criteria
  • showcase productsmade in Canada and recognized as Canadian products
  • offeragri-food products
  • submit all required documentation on time, as instructed

Information session for Canadian exhibitors

The TCS Team at the Consulate General of Canada in Shanghai, in partnership with the CIIEBureau, will host an online information session for Canadian companies interested in participating in the Canada pavilions at CIIE 2026.

This session help companies understand the event, the application process and how to prepare for the exhibition and maximize business opportunities.

  • May 7, 2026, 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm Eastern Time

Format

What you'll learn

The TCS team will provide:

  • an overview of the Canada pavilions
  • Information about planned activities during CIIE 2026 

The CIIE Bureau will provide:

  • key highlights and plans for CIIE 2026
  • information about networking opportunities and related events
  • guidance on preparing for exhibition 
  • advice on product display, brand promotion, and market outreach
  • lessons learned past Canadian exhibitors’ participation, success stories and key lessons learned;

There will also be a Q&A session with the CIIE organizer and the TCS team to address key questions of interest to participating companies.

Companies that want to attend CIIE 2026 as visitors can register separately.
