Web Summit Qatar (WSQ) 2027 will build on Doha’s growing role as a regional hub for innovation, convening startups, investors, corporations, and policymakers across sectors such as:
- AI
- fintech
- health
- Energy
- digital services
Canada’s participation in 2026 delivered strong, measurable outcomes. More than 90 Canadian companies and organizations were recruited, including over 60% women-owned businesses. A Canadian dealbook featuring 112 ICT firms was developed and shared in advance with key Qatari stakeholders, helping to increase visibility and facilitate targeted introductions.
A flagship networking event hosted by the Embassy in Doha brought together over 110 participants, including representatives from major Qatari institutions such as the Qatar Investment Authority and its subsidiaries, alongside private sector and ecosystem partners. Early results indicate more than 100 services generated, including qualified business contacts and market insights. Canadian startups also gained strong international visibility, with two finalists and one overall winner in the Web Summit Qatar global pitch competition.
Building on this momentum, the 2027 program will support Canadian companies to:
- showcase Canadian technologies and capabilities to Qatari and regional stakeholders
- pursue partnerships aligned with Qatar’s digital transformation priorities
- connect with investors, buyers, and innovation partners across the Gulf region
Participation offers Canadian firms a structured platform to advance commercial objectives, strengthen networks, and contribute to Canada’s broader trade diversification efforts in a high-growth market.
