The ocean technology sector is an advanced technology industry focused on products that work in or use the ocean. Canadian companies are world leaders in fields such as hull design, system electronics, sonar technologies, and computer-aided manufacturing. Particular industry key competency areas include sonar systems, training and simulation products and services, combat systems integration, advanced surveillance and mapping systems, integrated logistics and support systems, and a variety of maintenance and fabrication capabilities in direct support of the Royal Canadian Navy fleet.
