Why Singapore

Singapore is a maritime nation with a deep history and a clear vision to be a global leader in maritime connectivity, innovation, and sustainability. It is strategically located at the crossroads of global trade, shipping, and aviation routes, and is one of the world's most connected nations. Located along key East-West trade corridors through the Straits of Malacca, Singapore serves as a gateway to Southeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific region.

Leveraging its geographic advantage and focus on technological innovation, Singapore has cultivated a thriving maritime ecosystem. The country is fostering the growth of ocean-related industries such as marine robotics, autonomous vessels, sensor technologies, and smart port solutions. Through collaboration with industry stakeholders, researchers, and investors, Singapore is actively advancing its OceanTech ecosystem.

Singapore is also advancing sustainability in the maritime sector by exploring various renewable energy sources and green technologies. Driven by increasing environmental concerns and regulatory pressures, there is a growing demand for alternative propulsion systems, solutions for emissions reduction and fuel efficiency, as well as alternative fuel options.
